The State Services Development Agency establishes the following facts of legal significance:
- The fact of a person’s birth at a specific time and under specific circumstances;
- The fact of a person’s death at a specific time and under specific circumstances;
- The fact of registration of a person’s birth;
- The fact of registration of a person’s death.
When establishing a fact of legal significance related to birth, so-called acts/documents confirming the fact of marriage and/or divorce issued in the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions may be used to determine the data of the parent(s).
Service period and fee
A decision on the establishment of a fact of legal significance or on refusal to establish such a fact shall be made no later than one month after submission of the relevant application.
The State Services Development Agency is authorized to extend the application review period by one additional month in order to establish circumstances essential for the case.
Establishment of a fact of legal significance is free of charge.
